HopfOscillator.simulate(x0=None, tmax=1.0, noise=0.0, I=0.0)

Simulate the oscillator and return its states and readout.

Parameters:
  • x0 (array_like, optional) – The initial state. Shape (2,). Defaults to zeros.

  • tmax (float) – The duration of the simulation in seconds.

  • noise (float) – The standard deviation of the additive noise.

  • I (float or array_like) – The external input. A scalar is applied at every step, an array of shape (n,) is indexed per step.

Returns:

  • states (ndarray) – The simulated states. Shape (n, 2).

  • outputs (ndarray) – The simulated scalar readouts. Shape (n, 1).
