JansenRitExtended.simulate(x0=None, tmax=1.0, noise=0.0, P=None)

Simulate the extended Jansen-Rit model and monitor the output.

Parameters:
  • x0 (array_like, optional) – The initial state of the system. Shape (12,). Defaults to zeros.

  • tmax (float) – The maximum time to simulate.

  • noise (float) – The standard deviation of the noise to add to the system.

  • P (float or array_like, optional) – The external input to the excitatory population. A scalar is applied at every step, an array of shape (n,) is indexed per step. If None, the constant input set at construction is used.

Returns:

  • x (ndarray) – The simulated state. Shape (n, 12).

  • o (ndarray) – The simulated readout (weighted excitatory minus inhibitory). Shape (n, 1).
